Vehicle crash north of Long Creek sparks small wildfire

LONG CREEK- On Thursday, multiple emergency agencies responded to a vehicle accident and resulting wildfire on Highway 395B, just north of Ritter Butte.

The call came in to dispatch around 11:23 p.m. Minimal details have been released regarding the single vehicle accident, which occurred near milepost 80 on the highway. Wildcad.net reports the resulting Sugarloaf Fire grew to 2 acres at last update, with firefighters on scene.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Long Creek Fire Department, Long Creek and John Day Ambulances, The Oregon Department of Forestry, and ODOT all responded to the scene. We’ll post official information as it comes in.
