Union County Search and Rescue dispatched to injured snowmobiler

UNION COUNTY – (Information from Union County Search and Rescue) Shortly after 1 PM this afternoon, Union County 911 was notified of a serious injury snowmobile accident 3.6 miles from the Woodland Snow-Park in Union County. SAR responded along with paramedics from the City of La Grande Fire Department and a Life Flight helicopter from Hermiston. SAR and LGFD personnel accessed the scene with snowmobiles and a tracked UTV. The helicopter was fortunately able to land near the patient minimizing transport necessary by SAR, and he was subsequently flown to a regional trauma center.
