UMATILLA COUNTY – Umatilla County Board of Commissioners Chairman Dan Dorran has led the move to brand Umatilla County, and he says branding is paying off, especially now that county vehicles are all identified with the new logo.
“When a county car pulls up, whether it be code enforcement or human services or me driving into a meeting at Ukiah City Hall, every time they see that logo that means that Umatilla County is involved,” he said.
He said the creation of the logos and putting them out there for the public to see was basically step one of the branding process. Step two has been creating a unified look.
“Everything from business cards to letterhead to logos on Power Point presentations to signatures on emails,” he said. “That’s almost done now completely.”
Dorran said that the Umatilla County Branding Committee has now entered step three of its mission, which is consistency.
“We want to make sure those logo decals are put on consistently in the same way,” he said. “We want to make sure everybody’s letterhead is the same. That’s the stage we’re in now.”
The committee has written a book on the logo that will be distributed, but Dorran said the work is not done.
“It will be more of a next-step and an audit group to make sure that everybody’s playing the same game and if there are exceptions at all, it will take care of that,” Dorran said.
