Trial set for teen being tried as adult in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA – A not guilty plea was entered Monday in Walla Walla County Superior Court at the arraignment of Kenny Stephen Sanchez-Garcia. He’s being charged as an adult in the 2022 fatal stabbing of a man in Walla Walla.

Sanchez-Garcia was 15 at the time of the alleged crime. He is one of three teenage boys from Kennewick arrested in connection to the murder of Miguel Perez Barragan, 24.

Court proceedings continue to determine if the other two teenage boys will also be tried as adults. Sanchez-Garcia’s trial is set to begin January 3, 2024.
