Tri-Cities teen could face charges after teen passenger killed

RICHLAND, Washington – A 17-year-old girl died in a traffic collision Tuesday afternoon in Richland. The Washington State Patrol reports charges are pending against the driver.

Troopers said Celcilo G. Romero, 18, of Kennewick was traveling eastbound on State Route 240 exiting to eastbound Interstate 182 when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled.

Romero’s female passenger, a 17-year-old girl from Kennewick, died at the scene. Romero and another passenger, a 17-year-old boy from Richland, were both injured and transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center. No further details on their injuries or condition were released.

WSP said it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
