Training in the event of a real life crisis

LA GRANDE – Often times the Union County Search and Rescue train with a different scenario in the event the skills are required of a lost hiker or injured person.  Monday night, rescue personnel and Sheriff Cody Bowen spent time training involving a lost and injured person. Scenarios like this give responders a realistic opportunity to practice communication, rescue, and medical skills in real life environments and situations.

Union County SAR is an all-volunteer organization that operates as a division of, and under the direction of, the Union County Sheriff’s Office. SAR provides search and rescue services for Union County and beyond through mutual aid to other agencies.
