Suspect Arrested After Pursuit

MALHEUR COUNTY (Released from Oregon State Police)-On January 25, 2022 at approximately 10:41 AM, a wanted subject, Tyler Joseph Anders (32) of Baker City, was observed by law enforcement in the Huntington area in a Silver Dodge Avenger. A pursuit ensued near the Travel Center in Farewell Bend on Old Highway 30. 

During the brief pursuit, Anders drove head-on towards an unmarked detective’s vehicle nearly causing a head-on collision. The pursuit was ended when the tires were spiked on Anders vehicle and he was forced off the roadway by an OSP patrol car. 

OSP was assisted by Baker County Sheriff’s Office, Baker City Police Department, Ontario Police Department and Malheur County Sheriff’s Office.

Anders was lodged in the Baker County Jail on a Baker County Circuit Court Warrant for the following charges: Burglary in the First Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Pointing a Firearm at Another, Coercion, Menacing Constituting Domestic Violence, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree. Anders was also issued criminal citations to appear in Malheur County for the following charges: Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Eluding in a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangerment and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine
