GRANT COUNTY – On an episode of Coffee Time, Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley recently stressed the importance of defensible space around the home, especially for those who live out of town. He reflected on a recent incident near Fox:

“Fortunately, the two houses that were directly threatened by that Beech Creek Fire…you know, they know where they live. They’d taken action. And I’ve gotta say, the one place—they had done some logging and thinning around there, and it really prevented even more of a problem.”
