RICHLAND – The Richland Police Department is looking for a woman believed to be armed and dangerous. Detectives said there is probable cause to arrest Lauren Brooke Rice, 23, for first-degree assault.

Officers were contacted by a local area hospital on Tuesday at about 3:30 p.m. that a 45-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his shoulder area had been brought in by private citizens. The injuring was non-life threatening.

Officers learned the shooting took place at a residence on the 1500 block of Thayer Drive. No one else was found injured when officers responded to the location to search for evidence of the shooting.

During the investigation, detectives developed probable cause to believe Rice shot the 45-year-old male victim with a handgun. Prior to officers arriving to the scene, Rice fled in a silver or gray Mitsubishi SUV.

Anyone with information on Rice’s whereabouts is asked to contact dispatch at 509-628-0333.
