Pomeroy man killed in crash near Clarkston

CLARKSTON – The Washington State Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic collision that killed a motorcyclist from Pomeroy on U.S. 12 at milepost 427, five miles west of Clarkston Wednesday morning.

Troopers said Jeremiah J. Hessling, 47, was riding his motorcycle westbound when he crossed the center line while passing a commercial motor vehicle and collided with a Toyota RAV4 at 11:54 a.m.

Hessling died at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, Jamie M. Lockie, 33, of Pomeroy, was not injured.

WSP said it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
