WESTON – The Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Nickolus James Plueard, 23, for charges stemming from a disturbance early this morning (Sunday) and a break in at 5:30 a.m. today as well.

In the first call for service, deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of South Broad Street at 1:44 a.m. Plueard was alleged to be in the street screaming, yelling, and threatening the 911 caller. It is also charged that he broke out two windows on the reporting party’s vehicle with a golf club and was yelling racial slurs at the caller. He was also said to be shooting arrows without tips towards the caller. At that time, Plueard had left the scene.

Deputies then responded to Suzi’s Handy Mart for an alarm at 5:30 a.m. The front door of the business was broken into and a door to the laundry area had also been breached. The investigation at the scene led to the location of Plueard who was arrested without incident.

The sheriff’s office reports that at the time of his arrest, Plueard was displaying behavior consistent with a mental health crisis. Community Counseling Solutions was notified to respond to the jail.

The charges against Plueard include attempted unlawful use of a weapon, vandalism, menacing, and first-degree intimidation (aggravated assault). He is being held without bail pending an appearance in court.
