ONTARIO — An Ontario man is expected in court on Friday, April 12 on charges of lewd conduct with a minor child.

57-year-old Frank Leming of Ontario was arrested on a warrant from Valley County, Idaho on March 24.  He has been charged with one count of Lewd Conduct with a Child under the age of sixteen. His bond was set at $500,000.

He remains in custody.

Under Idaho Code 18-1508, lewd or lascivious conduct is any sexual contact with a minor under the age of 16, with the intent of arousing or gratifying lust, passion, or sexual desires. This is a felony with a punishment of up to life in prison.

A Boise woman, 44-year-old Shy John, was also arrested in this case. She is facing a charge of aiding and abetting lewd conduct with a minor under 16.

According to the Valley County Sheriff’s Office, the allegations in both cases date back to February 2018, when both suspects lived in the town of Cascade, which is south of McCall.

Valley County Sheriff Kevin Copperi expressed his appreciation for the hard work his detectives devoted to this case. “Even though this crime occurred more than five years ago, the detectives working this case didn’t let that deter them. They kept working the case until we were able to gather enough evidence to present to the grand jury for charges. If not for their determination and perseverance, this case could easily have become just another one of the many unreported and uncharged cases of sexual abuse of a child.”
