Hermiston man arraigned for alleged sex crimes

HERMISTON – The Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office arraigned Boyd Stanley Thomas Sr., 72, on multiple counts of sex crimes in the Sixth Circuit Court yesterday (Wednesday).

The arrest by officers from the Hermiston Police Department occurred due to a Umatilla County grand jury indictment. He is charged with five counts of sodomy (incest) and three counts of sexual abuse (assault with an object). The arrest occurred at an apartment in the 1100 block of Fifth Street Tuesday afternoon.

Hermiston police detectives launched an investigation into allegations against Thomas in December 2022. They turned their findings over to the District Attorney’s Office.

His bail is set at $400,000.
