JOHN DAY – Several students from Grant Union Jr. Sr. high School were on KJDY’s Coffee Time Tuesday, speaking on their experience within the school’s Work Study and Job Shadow programs.

Senior Till Winegar said his experience with Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative was fun and unique:

“I got to go up in the bucket with them! It was pretty cool. I gained, also, a lot of knowledge—like, which states have the best payroll, and which states have the best work, what pays the best with hazards. Additionally, I learned about the best schools to go to. How their kids did it, how they started out, and how they made a career in the [industry].”

Winegar said he’s going to Northwest Lineman College in Meridian, Idaho, following graduation.
