JOHN DAY – Winter driving conditions are increasing on our Grant County streets, roads, and highways, and some locals are just not as comfortable driving this time of the year. Luckily, the folks at Grant County People Mover do what they can to provide transportation to those needing to get around, including out of the county.

Grant County Transportation District Manager Alesa Komning was on KJDY’s Coffee Time recently, and mentioned that local veterans and those on Medicaid who qualify can get free rides to their medical appointments:

“Veteran’s medical [rides], and we also do Medicaid medical [rides]. They have a phone number for that, that they can call into and see if they qualify. If they do, then we can take you to your doctor appointments. We go to Boise, we’ve gone into Washington State, we go to Burns, Bend, Portland. You know, if you have medical needs, we really try to accommodate those if you qualify.”
