Firefighters respond to abandoned grain elevator fire in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA – The Walla Walla Fire Department responded Thursday night to an abandoned grain elevator fire in the area of 12th and Rees avenues in Walla Walla. Personnel and equipment from Walla Walla County Fire District No. 4 and College Place Fire Department assisted as part of a mutual-aid agreement.
When firefighters arrived, they found an active fire involving multiple tires that were being stored in and outside of the grain elevator.
No injures were reported and the fire is believed to be accidental in nature.
