DIXIE – Walla Walla County Fire District No. 8, based in Dixie, has received a $50,000 donation from Northwest Farm Credit Services in Pasco. The donation will primarily be used to purchase a side-by-side four-wheel drive ATV equipped for EMS and fire response.

The ATV will be equipped with snow tracks for winter access and wildland firefighting equipment to access areas that regular emergency vehicles cannot.

The donation will also fund the purchase of some personal protective equipment for the district’s volunteer firefighters.

“We proudly embrace our social responsibility to support rural communities with volunteer hours and financial contributions to causes that improve lives,” Northwest Farm Credit Services’ Washington President Josh Siler said.
