WALLA WALLA – An investigation has begun into a suspicious fire at the Shady Lawn Antiques Store, 711 North Rose Street. Firefighters responded to the business just before 5 a.m. today (Wednesday).

When firefighters arrived, flames were reportedly coming from an attached garage. Work immediately began to prevent the fire from spreading into the main building. No injuries were reported, and nobody was inside when the fire began. The dollar value of damages has not yet been determined.

Owners David and Jill Emigh said the business is temporarily closed and that they are unsure when they will reopen.

The Emigh’s opened the antique store in 1994 in property that once housed a creamery which operated from 1922 to 1992.
