UNION, OR – The Eastern Oregon Livestock Show is so excited to be having a rodeo in 2021!  Traditions like the EOLS are an integral part of the community and contribute to community stability, growth, and positive morale.  This year’s event is sure to be an enjoyable and appreciated experience.

The EOLS committee has worked closely with community partners to share ideas and create a plan that respectfully encompasses health and safety guidelines.  Every aspect of this year’s plan has been developed with the safety and well-being of our volunteers, fans, and contestants in mind.

EOLS current event plan includes modifications to the ‘normal’ event structure of previous years.  New in 2021 is that all ticket sales will be on-line.  Anyone who desires to purchase tickets should go directly to easternoregonlivestockshow.com and click the PURCHASE TICKET NOW button.  Tickets will go on sale Saturday April 10th at 8am.

Fans can choose to buy tickets that secure them a seat in either of the grandstands or they can purchase a general admission ticket that is ‘Standing Only.’  According to the most current guidelines in Oregon outdoor events must limit the number of people at the event to a percentage of their maximum legal occupancy and that percentage is determined by the counties risk level at the time of the event.   The number of tickets available for purchase at this year’s EOLS will be based on Union County’s risk level on the first full week in June.

Also new this year is the Knott Barn Livestream Venue.  This will be a great place for families with little kids to purchase tickets.  The rodeo will be shown on a large screen and there will be plenty of room and activities for the kids to enjoy.

Attendees can also anticipate signage that outlines and asks for cooperation with the current health guidelines.  The EOLS realizes risk levels and guidelines may evolve between now and the first full week in June and we are prepared to adjust aspects of the plan as needed to be in compliance with OHA guidelines.

Rodeo action begins with the Ed Miller Xtreme Bull Riding on Thursday June 10.  The gates open at 5:30 and the event will begin 30 minutes earlier this year at 6:30pm.  Followed by three days of PRCA rodeo starting on Friday at 4pm, Saturday at 2pm, and Sunday at 1:30pm.  EOLS is excited to coordinate with the City of Union for the annual main street parade on Friday June 11th at 2pm.  Also, the Rainier Amusements will be bringing the carnival back.  The carnival will start on Thursday and run through Saturday evening.  The 4-H and FFA organizations are hard at work organizing a live show at the EOLS grounds for the youth and their families.
