Drugs seized, arrest made in Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA – A major drug seizure during the execution of a search warrant leads detectives of the Walla Walla Regional Drug and Gang Task Force and Walla Walla Police Department Career Apprehension Team seizing fentanyl pills, fentanyl powder, heroin, methamphetamine, Xanax pills, marijuana, cash, and firearms.

On Wednesday, a search warrant was executed on the 1200 block of Hobson Street in Walla Walla, related to an ongoing criminal investigation. As a result of the search, the following items were seized: 2,605 fentanyl pills, 7.3 ounces of fentanyl powder, 15.18 grams of heroin, 29.09 grams of methamphetamine, 109 Xanax pills, 68.27 grams of marijuana, nine firearms and $3,034 in cash.

Grant H. Zahl, 34, was arrested on probable cause for three counts of delivering controlled substances and using a building for drug purposes. As the result of the finding from the search warrant, additional probable cause related to drug violations will be forwarded to the Walla Walla County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

The Walla Walla Regional Drug and Gang Task Force consists of detectives from the Walla Walla Police Department, the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office, the College Place Police Department, and the Washington State Department of Corrections.
