BAKER CITY – (Release from Baker School District) On Monday, March 7, 2022, Dr. Jodi Thew will transfer from her role as Principal at Baker Middle School (BMS) to the District Office to fill critical needs left by the retirement of other District Office staff.

Pending Baker School District Board approval at a special board meeting on Thursday, March 3, 2022, Betty Palmer, who previously retired from the role of Baker School District Assistant Superintendent, will step in as Interim Principal at BMS through the end of the current school year.

“Dr. Thew is such an asset to the District,” says Superintendent Mark Witty. “We are thankful for her willingness to step into new roles when she is needed, and we are also very grateful to have the support of Betty Palmer to make this transition possible. We will be posting the opening for BMS Principal soon in order to hire a permanent replacement for the 2022-23 school year.”
