HEPPNER – Morrow County District Attorney Justin Nelson is urging people to come forward in the shooting death of Marlen Bowles in Heppner on Dec. 14. He has been declared a person of interest by the Oregon State Police. He has not been seen since then.

“There are people that know where David is,” Nelson said. “There is information out there with people who saw him more recently.  We’re hoping they’ll reach out to Oregon State Police.”

Nelson said that many people with information will not call because they believe if they know it, that investigators know it as well. He said the investigators would rather hear information repeatedly than not hear it at all.

“To hold offenders accountable, we need all the information out there,” he said. “Never assume that information you have must be known to law enforcement. It’s imperative that we have people help us.”

Oregon State Police requests anyone with any knowledge to call either 911 or OSP Dispatch at 800-442-2068 and reference case number SP200348879.
