Cove meant business at the FBLA State Business Leadership Conference

COVE – (Information shared from the Cove School District via social media) The Oregon FBLA State Business Leadership Conference came and went, April 4-6. Among the local chapters to participate, Cove took care of business to say the least. In total, ten members placed in the top ten in the respective competitions, four qualified to compete at the National FBLA Conference, with a further two possibly qualifying as well. In addition, the cove chapter received multiple awards, one student was elected as a state officer, and the chapter’s advisor was named advisor of the year. A full breakdown of all of Cove’s achievements is as follows:
Student Competitions (All students placed in the top ten of their respective category)
- Sophia Garcia Business: Management.
- Mikenzie Spence Business: Management
- Mikenzy Spence: Insurance and Risk Management.
- Tivian Tripple Broadcast: Journalism.
- Tivian Tripple: Hospitality and Event Management.
- Gracie Tucker Broadcast: Journalism.
- Hailey Davis: Journalism.
- Ally Gettman: Marketing.
- Tanner Rovey: Agricultural Business.
- Kendra Manveld: Client Services and Job Interview.
- Oliva Michaels: Introduction to Business Procedures.
- Esther Elmer in Job Interview and in Client Services.
National FBLA Leadership Conference Qualification:
- Esther Elmer: Job Interview and Client Services.
- Tanner Rovey: Agricultural Business.
- Ally Gettman: Marketing
- Kendra Mansveld: Client Services and Job Interview.
- Gracie Tucker: Broadcast Journalism. (Runner-up)
- Tivian Tripple (Runner-up)
In addition to the competition rankings, Tanner Rovey was elected as the State of Oregon Vice-President of Service for the 2024-2025 school year. Rovey previously served as a state officer during the 2023-2024 school year, with Cove writing about him in a social media announcement:
“He was named Who’s Who Among Oregon FBLA, won the BAA Contributor Award, and he qualified for the National FBLA Leadership Conference in Orlanda this summer by placing 2nd in Agricultural Business. Congratulations Tanner, we are all so proud of you.”
The accolades don’t stop there. Chapter advisor Candy McGilvray was also named State of Oregon FBLA Advisor of the year. Further, the chapter itself also received the Chapter Gold Designation for the second consecutive year, along with the Super Service Award, and the March of Dimes Award.
