HERMISTON – Annexation is on the agenda for the Hermiston City Council at tonight’s (Monday) meeting at 7. The council will consider initiating annexation proceedings for an acre of land on Northeast Tracey Lane.

The Horizon Project is asking that the land be annexed into the city to allow connections to city water and sewer services. It is within Hermiston’s urban growth boundary. It is adjacent to the city limits on three sides.

The council will also consider a proposal to raise water and sewer utility fees by 3.75 percent and adopt a policy that would increase the rates annually based on the change in inflation as measured by a construction industry standard via the Engineering News-Record.

Also on the agenda, the council will be introduced to Hermiston Municipal Court Manager Jillian Villes and hear an update from the Hermiston School District.

The meeting will be at the Hermiston Community Center, 415 S. Highway 395. There are a limited number of chairs available for those wearing face coverings. The meeting is also streamed live on Hermiston’s YouTube channel.
