Cooler conditions could create confident circumstances for controlled burning, notes Wallowa Whitman

NORTHEAST OREGON – (Release from the Wallowa Whitman National Forest) After several waves of moisture moving through the Blues over the last few weeks, fuels and fire management staff are watching for the optimum weather to begin fall prescription burning on the National Forest.

The wildland fire community discusses and coordinates operational needs for responding to wildfires and conducting prescribed burns. When deemed appropriate, and firefighters and equipment are available, prescribed burning may occur during times of active wildfire.
