PENDLETON – The city of Pendleton has issued a request for proposals on two small buildings it owns near the old fire station, which is now home to Moto Stuff and BackFire Station. City Manager Robb Corbett said the request for proposals is not about making money as much as it’s about developing the corridor from the Round-Up Grounds to Main Street.

“We’re not as much interested in the revenue that we could get as we are in getting the property developed in a way that enhances that corridor,” Corbett said.

He said that there has been a large amount of interest in the two properties.

“We’re hoping that with our request for proposals that a developer might come in and look at that and do something special at that location that would make that area a greater, busier commercial corridor.”
