City of Wallowa Issues Public Notice about Block Grant Public Hearing

WALLOWA– Officials with the City of Wallowa have announced that the city is eligible to apply for a 2023 Community Development Block Grant from the Business Oregon.  These funds come from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

These grants can be used for public facilities and housing improvements, primarily for persons with low and moderate incomes.  

According to the City of Wallowa, approximately $11 million will be awarded to Oregon non-metropolitan cities and counties in 2023.  The maximum grant that a city of county can receive is $50,000 for a Downtown Revitalization Planning Grant. 

The City of Wallowa is preparing an application for a 2023 Community Development Block Grant and a Public Hearing will be held on March 21 at 6:00pm at the Wallowa City Hall in order for the city council to gather views from citizens and address questions and comments about this.
