City of Union Cleanup day scheduled for May 11

UNION – (Information from the City of Union Newsletter) Despite the recent colder weather, it’s still officially spring in Eastern Oregon, and that means it’s time for spring cleaning. For Union residents looking to participate, a city cleanup day is Scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for Saturday May 11. Participants will meet at the Public Works building, 61323 Highway 203, and receive directions from there. As with all local cleanup days, only certain items are acceptable:

Accepted items:

  • Yard Debris.
  • Household items, such as appliances, lawn mowers, furniture, and so on.
  • Electronics.
  • Tires, without rims. Only 4 tires per household can be accepted due to limited space.
  • Outdoor kids toys and bikes.

Non accepted items:

  • Household garbage.
  • Roofing shingles.
  • Ashes.
  • Batteries.
  • Hazardous waste, including paint and chemicals.

The city cleanup day is for Union residents only.
