Caring for your pets during cold weather

UNION COUNTY – The Union County Animal Control reminds the parents of our pets, as the temperatures dip these next few days, to bring pets inside during the cold temperatures. If you cannot bring them inside, Oregon law requires you to provide shelter and bedding for them. It is recommended that straw be put down to protect their paws and insulate the inside of the dog house. Outside kitty houses can be made out of old coolers or Rubbermaid type containers. Outside water freezes quickly, please remember to check their water sources.

It is considered animal neglect if your pets are not adequately cared for during cold weather.
