PENDLETON – Blue Mountain Community College department heads are hard at work on their budgets for the new fiscal year that begins July 1. Budget meetings will begin in May, and BMCC President Mark Browning said there’s an overriding goal that he feels the college can reach.

“Our goal is to put forth a budget that does not eliminate any positions,” he said. “If you think about what this college and this community has been through in the last three to four years, that’s a very big moment.”

Browning added that BMCC will not suddenly become wealthy.

“We’re not going to be super flush,” he said. “You know we never are. But we can still do what we need to do and I think that’s so important for our college and our community.”
