BURNS – The Eastern Oregon Youth Correctional Facility in Burns houses up to 50 youth. Newt Skunkcap, BSOY with the Oregon Youth Authority, was recently on KZHC’s Harney County Live and explained about his jump from a Group Life Coordinator to his current position:

“I got moved up to the BSOY spot, and that was awesome. I mean, I don’t have that constant contact with the youth, but I work with the older youth that are graduated from high school and kind of help them out with their stuff. Food handlers—get them to where they can handle food…[also] Oregon I.D. cards.”

The Eastern Oregon Youth Correctional Facility currently has open positions available.
