PENDLETON – The Pendleton Airport Commission is meeting tomorrow (Wednesday) and looking at proposals from companies applying to provide essential air services at the Eastern Oregon Regional Airport is on the agenda.

Boutique Air, the current EAS provider flying to and from Portland International Airport, is one of the applicants. Also applying are Alaska Seaplanes and Southern Airways Express. The meeting at 6 p.m. is in the Doolittle Raiders Conference Room inside the airport terminal.

The agenda, which includes the three proposals, can be accessed at the Calendar page for the city’s website at https://cityofpendletonor.civicweb.net/Portal/MeetingSchedule.aspx. Just click on the meeting for the Pendleton Airport Commission on Feb. 28.

The Essential Air Service program was put into place to guarantee that small communities that were served by air carriers before deregulation took place maintain a minimal level of scheduled air service. It is administered by the U. S. Department of Transportation.
